It became a pilgrimage spot for centuries because it was considered to embody everything great in the classical world.

The Parthenon is regarded as one of the most architecturally perfect buildings in existence. It’s one of my favorite places in all of Greece because it reminds me how amazingly creative humans can be when they dedicate themselves to greatness.
